Apple, Cardamom, and Cranberry Galette

This rustic dessert blends sweet-tart apples, warm cardamom, and tart cranberries in a flaky crust that’s perfect for fall cozy nights.

Ingredients

  • 1 Package Store-bought pie crust
  • 2 large Gala apples, cored, and thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup Granulated sugar + more for garnish
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp Ground cardamom
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup Fresh cranberries
  • 1 large Egg, whisked

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the pie crust on a baking sheet. Using a rolling pin, roll dough into a 12-inch circle.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, gently toss together the apple slices, granulated sugar, cinnamon, cardamom, and lemon juice. Spoon the mixture onto the prepared pie crust and push the mixture to the edges of the dough, but leave a one-inch border. Top the apple mixture with cranberries.
  • Take the border of the dough and fold dough over the apple mixture making your way around; overlapping as needed.
  • In a small bowl, whisk the egg. Brush the top of the border with egg mixture and sprinkle with more granulated sugar.
  • Bake the galette for about 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
